BräuPro 3 BBL electric brewing system

The BräuPro 3 BBL is a two-vessel electric brewhouse for taprooms, brewpubs and small breweries: a 4.5 BBL DrainPro mash tun with a grain door, and a 3 BBL jacketed Unitank that boils, chills and ferments under pressure. 22 kW of electric heat runs on single- or three-phase power, with no boiler, steam or gas line.

How a brew day runs

  1. Mash in the 4.5 BBL mash tun. The extra volume leaves room for strong beers at full batch size.
  2. Run the wort into the 3 BBL Unitank and boil it there on 22 kW.
  3. Chill and pitch in the same tank. Ferment, cold crash and carbonate it at up to 30 psi without a transfer.
  4. Open the grain door and shovel out the spent grain at floor level. The mash tun is clean and ready for the next brew.

How much beer a year?

Each batch stays in its Unitank from the boil to the last pour, so output grows with the number of tanks. On a three-week turn, one Unitank makes about 50 BBL a year, two about 100 and three about 150. Lagers take longer. The brewery capacity calculator works it out for your beers and schedule.

What power does a 3 BBL electric brewhouse need?

On 240V single-phase, 22 kW draws about 92 A, so electricians usually feed it from a 125 A circuit (the code’s 125% rule for continuous loads). Three-phase builds use elements rated for your 208V or 480V supply. Your electrician sizes the final breaker and wire from our wiring diagram. The electrical requirements page covers every Bräu system, and the brewery electrical calculator gives a first estimate.

Questions

How much does a 3 BBL brewing system cost?

The BräuPro 3 BBL starts at $23,995 for the mash tun and one 3 BBL Unitank. Extra Unitanks with heaters and a controller are $8,100 each. A glycol chiller, buffer tank and freight are quoted to your layout. The startup cost calculator adds kegs, a taproom and everything else.

Do I need a hoist or a high ceiling?

No. Spent grain comes out through the mash tun’s grain door at floor level, so there’s no hoist, gantry or lifting basket. A regular commercial ceiling is fine.

How long does it take to get one?

About 12 weeks from order. Book a call and we’ll confirm the current build slot.

Can I start smaller?

Yes. The BräuPro 1 BBL uses the same two-vessel design on one 240V, 30 A circuit, and its tri-clamp parts carry over.

What about 5 BBL?

The BräuPro 5 BBL has a 7.5 BBL mash tun and 33 kW of heat. It’s priced on request: join the list and we’ll send pricing and the spec sheet.

How does it compare with other small brewhouses?

See all our systems side by side on the brewing system comparison, or book a 15-minute call and we’ll talk through your space, power and beers.
