Brewtools alternative: Unitank vs F-series
Brewtools, from Norway, makes well-finished unitanks and all-in-one systems with app-connected controls and a five-year warranty. A Bräu Supply Unitank uses standard 1.5" and 2" tri-clamp ports, has an element port for heating, costs less at every size once temperature control is included, and ships from Vancouver with US tariffs paid. Brewtools’ new brewing systems are on pre-order in North America until early 2027.

What the Brewtools tank does well
The F-series is a carefully built tank: 1.5 mm stainless, third-party tested to the EU pressure-equipment directive, a neoprene insulation jacket on the standard versions, and a five-year warranty, longer than ours. If you want Brewtools’ app ecosystem across brewing and fermentation, its tanks are built to plug into it.
Where the Unitank comes out ahead
- Price with temperature control. Tank for tank, prices are close: in the US the Unitank 13 gal and 1 BBL cost less than the F40 and F150, and the 26 gal costs a little more than the F80 but holds more (100 L against 86 L). Add temperature control and the Unitank costs less at every size: our glycol kit starts at a fraction of the FCS starter kit. Brewtools’ Light versions cost less but use plastic valves, racking arm and sample valve.
- Standard fittings. Every Unitank port is a standard 1.5" or 2" tri-clamp, so any tri-clamp part from any supplier fits. Many F-series ports are 34 mm, which take Brewtools-specific accessories.
- Heating built in. Every Unitank has an element port; holding a warm fermentation, or warming a cold garage, takes an element and a controller. Brewtools offers a 500 W element with no temperature control.
- Temperature control. Our glycol temperature control kit includes the controller, thermowell, valves and line set. Brewtools’ FCS starter kit costs more, and MoreBeer describes its software as an early-adopter beta.
- Getting it. Unitanks ship from Vancouver with US tariffs and duties paid and free shipping to the lower 48 over $600. Canadians buy in Canadian dollars with no border. Brewtools tanks ship by freight from MoreBeer, to the lower 48 only.

FAQ
Are Brewtools 34 mm fittings tri-clamp?
They are a tri-clamp style, but 34 mm is not the standard 1.5" size, so standard 1.5" parts don’t fit those ports. Each Unitank port is a standard 1.5" or 2" tri-clamp.
Do both tanks hold 30 psi?
Yes, both are rated to 30 psi. The Unitank ships with a 15 psi relief valve; Brewtools sets its relief valve at 2 bar and lists 15 psi as the operating pressure.
Can I buy Brewtools in Canada?
We found no Canadian dealer or Canadian-dollar price on October 12, 2026, and MoreBeer doesn’t ship freight items outside the lower 48. Unitanks ship from Vancouver in Canadian dollars.
