Great. Went a little crazy with the setup and ran it as a RIMS but it handled it well. Did get a little too much grain through the basket and scorched my element but will adjust milling next time. Thank you.

First batch with Unibräu Grain Basket
I purchased this to simplify my brew day going from a three vessel system to a BIAB + sparge setup that will still make 7.5 gallons post boil in a 10 gallon pot. I was a bit skeptical that this would work, but I was pleasantly surprised how well the grain basket fit into my Spike 10 gallon pot and how thoughtfully it was designed. Lifting the basket out of the pot, I could easily sparge to 9 gallon pre boil and I ended up getting a better efficiency than in my previous setup.

Awesome Upgrade
Actually, I ordered the 20-gallon Kettle and Grain basket. I have had the 10-gallon Unibrau system for several years and loved that I could easily upgrade the system as I grew due to it's modular design. So, when it came time for me to upgrade to a larger system, Unibrau was really the only choice I had, because I was spoiled.
I received the upgrade about 8 days after I ordered it. Brau Supply got the order out the day after I ordered it, but with customs and having it sit for several days in Seattle, then Tacoma... it was 8 days.
The upgrade came unharmed due to some aggressive packaging. I finally brewed my first batch yesterday and it was amazing. All my attachments were easily repurposed with the exception of my brew bag and hop spider. The new kettles come with 5 Tri-clamp ports and that makes for some great configurations. It took me only 45-minute longer to brew a10 gallon batch as it did for me to brew a 5 gallon batch in my previous 10-gallon kettle. The markings on the kettle are clear and pretty concise. I always used a Brewbag as a strainer in the 10-gallon kettle and even though my old Brewbag was wide enough to use in this system, it was not deep enough. So, I brewed without a bag and with the new laser-cut grain basket (false bottom) it worked out great. We searched for stray grains in the wort after sparging and I would say that it was less than a dozen.
It really was a flawless transition from the 10-gallon kettle to the 20-gallon kettle, which is exactly what a modular system is supposed to do.
I downloaded the 20-gallon Unibrau equipment profile and inserted it into Beersmith 3.0 with no modifications to get a baseline and it was spot-on on every level. My efficiency in the mash was 82.1% which is what I normally get in my 10-gallon system. Oh year, and it is cool looking too.
As I looked for opposing things to say or things I would change about this upgrade, I simply could not find any. Thanks Brau Supply for yet another fantastic product.

Everything you want in a kettle.
Good, even boil. Solid fittings, and the handles of the kettle match the handles on the lid perfectly.
