Match pump count to how many fermenter zones need independent flow rates. Two fermenters running the same temp profile can share one pump + manifold. Two at different temps (one fermenting, one crashing) need separate pumps. Most commercial cellars order one pump per fermenter to keep zones decoupled. You can also add pumps later — the BFT-67 ships with mounting holes for all 10.
1 or 2 chiller upperdecks?
The BFT-67 platform supports one or two BEF chillers mounted on top. Single deck is standard; dual deck adds primary + backup redundancy, or doubles the BTU output, or mixes models (e.g. BEF-300 + BEF-100 for capacity-stacking).
Quote reservoir alone, or bundle chiller pairing?
If you already own a compatible BEF chiller, we'll spec the upperdeck mount to fit. Otherwise we'll quote the BFT-67 + matching BEF chiller(s) as one system. Pumps + manifold + freight included in either path.

A BEF chiller on its own has an integrated 17-gallon bath and 1–2 pumps. That's enough for 2–4 fermenters. When you scale past that — more fermenters than pumps, more BTU than one chiller can handle, or a need for primary + backup redundancy — the BFT-67 is the platform you bolt that BEF chiller onto.
Bigger thermal mass = stable cooling
4× more buffering than integrated bath67 gallons of glycol versus 17 = roughly 4× the thermal mass. Short compressor cycles, supply temp barely budges even when 6 fermenters cold-crash at once, and the chiller lives at moderate duty instead of redlining.

Do I need a BFT-67?+
Not unless you're scaling. The integrated 17 gal bath on a BEF-04 or larger handles 2–4 fermenters fine. Step to a BFT-67 when: (1) you've got 4+ fermenters running back-to-back, (2) you want more than 2 independent pump zones (commercial cellars often need 6–10), or (3) you want primary + backup chiller redundancy on one reservoir.

Rough sizing: BEF-04 for 2–3 BBL load, BEF-05 for 3–5 BBL, BEF-075 for 5 BBL, BEF-100 for 5 BBL hall, BEF-150 for 10 BBL, BEF-300 for 20 BBL, BEF-500 for 40 BBL. We size it as part of the quote — submit the form with your fermenter count + sizes and we'll come back with a recommendation.
Can I run two chillers on one BFT-67?+
Yes — the BFT-67 supports two chiller upperdecks. Two common configurations: redundant (BEF-300 + BEF-300 — either one carries the load if the other goes down) or capacity-stacked (BEF-300 + BEF-100 — total BTU output = 36,679 for very large halls). You can also mix tiers (BEF-150 + BEF-100) if that's what your hall needs.
What's the install look like?+
The BFT-67 ships as three components: the insulated bath, the pump deck (drilled for your selected pump count), and any chiller upperdecks. Assembly is bolt-together — typically half a day on-site with a brewery contractor. The pumps run on 120V NEMA 5-15 outlets (one per pump); the chiller(s) run on whatever voltage they spec (120V or 220V). Your contractor handles the glycol manifold + insulated trunk to fermenters separately.
How much glycol fluid?+
For a BFT-67 setup, plan on ~20 gallons of pre-mixed propylene (at 30% propylene to water) — that's 67 gal bath × 30% propylene = ~20 gal of propylene, plus your fermenter jackets, coils, and trunk lines. We send a fluid-volume calculation as part of the quote so you know exactly how much to order from your local HVAC supplier.

1-year warranty on the reservoir + pump deck through MCED Systems direct. Pumps are individually replaceable — if one goes down, swap it without taking the whole system offline. Standard pump motors are off-the-shelf and stocked.
