Chiller Watch is the MCED digital controller — set point, differential, low-pressure cutout, alarm relay, cloud-connected for remote monitoring. On the High Capacity tier it's standard; on Production tier it's an optional add. Many production buyers already have brewery SCADA / BMS and don't need a second controller. Skip it if you've got that infrastructure; add it if you want MCED's cloud monitoring.

Production-tier chillers can carry up to 3 independent fermenter zones. Pick by how many simultaneous fermenter loops you need to feed at different flow rates.

The chiller ships ready to plumb into anything via NPT — pick a connection kit if you want the matched controller + solenoid + thermowell + glycol line set for our Unitank or DrainPro Fermenter. Glycol fluid is NOT included; use food-safe propylene glycol only (never ethylene), mixed to ~30% propylene of total system volume.
What the Production Series will cool.
Both Production models share the 220V plug-in form factor and integrated 17-gal bath. Step up to BFT-67 reservoir for 10+ fermenter halls. Step further to the Industrial Series (BEF-300/-500) for 20+ BBL production cellars.

Same form factor as High Capacity but with a larger refrigerant charge. Upperdeck to BFT-67 (67 gal) for centralized cooling across a fermentation hall.

About the Production Series.
BEF-100 or BEF-150?+
By hall size. BEF-100: 5 BBL hall, 4–6 1 BBL fermenters under typical brewery duty. BEF-150: 10 BBL hall, 6–10 fermenters, or smaller halls running back-to-back lager crashes. Both 220V plug-in; the difference is compressor size and BTU output.
Why is Chiller Watch optional here but standard on High Capacity?+
Production-tier buyers often already have brewery SCADA, BMS, or a dedicated control panel reading every cellar variable including chiller status. Forcing Chiller Watch into the base price would mean charging for a controller many buyers won't use. Add it ($695 TBC) if you want MCED's cloud monitoring; skip if you have existing automation.
Do I need an electrician for 220V?+
Not necessarily. The Production chillers ship with a NEMA 6-20P plug — a standard 220V single-phase plug. If your cellar already has a 220V/20A outlet (some breweries do; many electric brewhouses have one), you plug it in and go. If not, a licensed electrician needs to run a 220V/20A circuit — typically 1–2 hours of work and $300–500 in materials.
Should I get the dual or triple pump version?+
Pick by how many fermenter zones you want feeding at independent flow rates. Single pump: 1–3 fermenters sharing flow (fine for matched conditions). Dual pump: 2 independent zones (most common). Triple pump: 3 independent zones (for commercial cellars running primary + crash + secondary at the same time at different pressures).
Can I add a BFT-67 reservoir later?+
Yes — both Production models upperdeck onto the BFT-67 (67 gal bath, up to 10 pumps, 2 chiller decks for redundancy). When you outgrow the integrated 17 gal bath, the BFT-67 is the upgrade path. Bolt-on, no chiller replacement needed. See BFT-67 →
Why isn't glycol included?+
Pre-mixed propylene glycol is heavy and hazmat-classed — including it would substantially raise the freight cost. Any HVAC supplier carries food-safe propylene glycol at a lower per-gallon price than we could ship it for. Buy food-safe propylene glycol (never ethylene — that's automotive antifreeze and toxic). Mix to ~30% propylene of the total fluid volume — that's the 17 gal bath plus everything held in your fermenter jackets and the connecting lines.

What's the warranty?+
1-year warranty on the refrigeration loop. Warranty service is direct through MCED Systems — they manufacture the unit and service it. Production-tier installations get priority parts dispatch from MCED.
